The 7th
Edition of #ELGOUNASQUASH continued today with 16 more first round matches
as Round One concluded.
Rodriguez ousts Abouelghar as
Kandra & Simpson qualify for Round Two
In the men's matches there were three upst results as qualifiers Raphael
Kandra and Chris Simpson beat Max Lee and Greg Marche, while Miguel
Rodriguez turned in an impressive performance to put out eighth seed
Mohamed Abouelghar in straight games.
In the evening matches second and third seeds Greg Gaultier and Ali
Farag progressed, although defending champion Gaultier had to work hard
to beat the dangerous Mazen Hesham in four.
Hania comeback adds to Egyptian count
The only upset in the Women's matches came as Hania El Hammamy came from
two games down to beat Olivia Blatchford, making it five Egyptians
through to the last sixteen.
In the evening matches second and third seeds Raneem El Welily and Nour
El Tayeb advanced with ease, joining their husbands - Tarek Momen won
this afternoon - in the second round.
