Hong Kong Open secures five-year
sponsorship
The Grand Press Conference Ceremony of the Cathay Pacific Sun
Hung Kai Financial Hong Kong Squash Open 2013 was held at the
Regal Hong Kong Hotel today.
Hong Kong Squash were delighted to be able to announce continued
sponsorship from Cathay Pacific Airways and Sun Hung
Kai Financial Group, for the next five years.
“While other sports are scrambling around looking for sponsors,
we are lucky to have two committed blue-chip sponsors who have
backed us for a long time and are now continuing to do so for
the next five years,” an elated David Mui Ying-yuen,
chairman of Hong Kong Squash told the South China Morning Post.
“This financial commitment is a major breakthrough. We won’t
have to worry every year about where the money will come from
and we can go ahead with the tournament. This is great news for
squash and for Hong Kong as our tournament is one of the top
five in the world,” Mui said.
At the same time, TVB will once again join with Hong Kong
Squash to broadcast the annual biggest event “Cathay Pacific Sun
Hung Kai Financial Hong Kong Squash Open 2013”which is scheduled
for the coming December 1st – 8th at Hong Kong Squash
Centre and Piazza, Hong Kong Cultural Centre.
It will once again be attracting all the international squash
players around the world, including world number ons and
defending champions Nicol David and Ramy Ashour.
Our elite HK Players, Annie Au Wing-chi, Leo Au Chun-ming,
Max Lee Ho-yin and Joey Chan Ho-ling (front row) also
attended the ceremony and show their full support to the
tournament.
