Semi-Finalists
decided on weather interrupted evening
in El Gouna
Raneem El Welily won the first
match of the evening as she came from a game down to beat Laura
Massaro, ending a run of four defeats against the Englishwoman.
The third was crucial, Welily trailing all game before sneaking
it on her way to a win in 46 minutes.
Fares
Dessouki made it to the semis for the second time in a row
in a rain-interrupted match against Diego Elias.
After the first two games were shared, rain, thunder and
lightning struck - the first time it's rained here since last
October - so the matches were moved to the Complex.
In front of a packed and noisy crowd Dessouki took the next two
games - both fiercely contested and somewhat contentions -
12/10, 12/10 to progress.
Camille
Serme claimed the last place in the women's semis - which
will be contested by the top four seeds - as she came through a
five-setter against Joshna Chinappa, taking the decider 11/2.
World Champion Karim Abdel Gawad concluded the
quarter-finals as he beat Simon Rosner in four.
