Unseeded finalist assured
as the upsets continue at St George's Hill ...
The
first two quarter-finals ensured that there will be at least one
unseeded player in tomorrow's final after contrasting wins for
Daryl Selby and Paul Coll.
Last year's beaten finalist but unseeded this year, Selby,
having already beaten the top seed, looked in great shape as he
beat Saurav Ghosal in straight games, while qualifier Coll
continued to impress as he beat fourth-seeded Colombian Miguel
Rodriguez in a five-game marathon.

There was bound to be an Egyptian winner of the third match, but
again it was a seeding upset as Tarek Momen recovered
from 3-10 down in the first game to take the lead against Marwan
Elshorbagy, then proceeded to lead throughout the next two games
to reach the semis.
The final spot in the semi-final was taken by James Willstrop,
the sixth seed coming from a game down to beat qualifier Steve
Coppinger to continue his recent run of impressive results.
