Qualifying under way at St
George's Hill
The Channel VAS Championship kicked off at St George's Hill LTC
with sixteen players looking to claim a place in the PSA $100k
main draw.
Six
of the matches went with seeding as all the local entries lost
out, top seeds Steve Coppinger and Gregoire Marche
joined by Paul Coll, Nicolas Mueller, Adrian
Waller and Lucas Serme in tomorrow's qualifying
finals.
Both upset results came on the Glass court as Nathan Lake
turned in a fine performance to beat sixth-seeded Scot Alan
Clyne in four games, and Charles Sharpes put out St
George's own Tom Richards, the third seed retiring injured after
losing the first two games.
