The first Frenchman ever to top the world rankings, Thierry Lincou missed out in two five game World Open finals, but became world number one for two months at the start of 2004.

That year he also became Super Series champion, and enjoyed such a consistent run of form - never failing to reach at least the semi-finals of every major event - he made the world number one position his own for the whole of 2005.

In 2009 he won the French national title for the 11th time, and he's not done yet ...
