Pontefract regain women's title,
Worms claim a first in the men's

It was a Dutch double for Yorkshire's Pontefract as Orla Noom and Vanessa Atkinson both won in straight games against top seeds Mulhouse to give Ponte their fifth European Clubs title - four of those coming in the last seven years.

The men's final went down to the last match as David Palmer put Worms ahead, Gregory Gaultier levelled for hosts Praha, both 3-1 leaving the match level. Marcus Berrett put Worms back in front with a 3-0 win and Andre Haschker took the game they needed to become European Clubs champions for the first time.

Top seeds ousted in men's semis

It was an early start in Prague for the men's semi-finals, which saw Pool D rivals Worms and Praha win through to this afternoon's men's final.

Top seeds Mulhouse got off to a good start against Worms as James Willstrop came from 2-0 down to beat Nick Matthew in a 100minute marathon, but David Palmer and Marcus Berrett won in more comfort top put the German outfit through to a second successive final.

The second semi also saw a seeding upset as hosts Praha put out second seeds Aberdeen 3-1. Gregory Gaultier and Tim Vail put the hosts 2-0 ahead and Jan Koukal made sure with a 3-2 win over Alan Clyne.
