Court Innovation for EuroClubs In
the course of the championship a brand new Courtwall Innovation Professional Tournament
Glass Court will be installed in the Top Hotel Congress Hall, where some
pool matches will be played and the finals of the
championship will be played.
Since 2003 Courtwall has offered the ProView
Professional dot system, a special decal treatment incorporating
a ceramic double-dot system (usually blue/blue shade over black,
but other colours are available) that provides
optimal vision for players and spectators.
The technology works
best if 70% of light density is focused on court area, and
outside of court is less light. The ceramic decal dots are
fused/burned to the glass during the hardening process, creating
a proper play wall surface with tension and a surface that
cannot be degraded by racquets, sweat, glass cleaner, etc.
It is
necessary to have such a treatment applied to the glass, for
players to have an accurate view of the ball while spectators
are able to enjoy watching play on the court, getting a “clear
glass effect”.
This all glass court is available both as
permanent installed and portable model. The portable Courtwall
Innovation tournament glass court is designed with the minimum
number of unique glass panels; this allows cost-effective
maintenance of spares, an important factor in a court that is to
be erected and demounted regularly.
The Courtwall professional
tournament glass court has been successfully used for many squash
tournaments around the globe within the last decade, such as Saudi
Arabia Open, Kuwait Open, Tournament of Champions New York Grand
Central Station (2006-2012), US Open (2006-2012), Canary Wharf
London Open (2005-2012), Women Team World Championship 2003,
Bermuda Squash Open, Australian Squash Open (Canberra
2011-2012), and many others.
During the European Clubteam Championship in Prague Courtwall
Innovation will present an improved 2012 version of the court.
The main new features is a new back wall/door construction to
improve visibility for spectators, new installation fittings for
front/sidewall made out of clear hi-tech plastic polyamid
improving visibility for spectators and complete new colour
layout from glass front and side wall in two blue shades, for
best possible contrast of white ball.
