First Round
A good day for Switzerland today
in Kriens. Still two home players in the draw as Patrick
Miescher follows Reiko Peter into the second round.
The crowd in Kriens saw some good and competitive matches today.
With 8 matches it was a busy day and the players made it worth
to come and watch. All the lower ranked players pushed the seeds
hard with most of them getting rewarded with games.
Especially delighting for the fans was that the only upset was
Patrick Miescher who took out sixth seed Alejandro Garbi in four
games.
For tomorrow we are hoping for further Swiss upsets!

Mohammed Reda:
He played really well in the first game but starting from the
second I played better squash and mount better looking forward
forward for my quarter final.
Lukas Burkhart:
I am happy with the way I played today. As I had a hard time
recently (injury) I didn't quite know what to expect... I really
liked to play in front of my homecrowd and enjoyed every minute
of it.
Nathan Lake:
Really pleased to be back in Kriens and to win in three. I've
had a difficult year with injuries so it's nice to be fit and
playing well. Looking forward to haveing another crack at Reda!
Yousef Saleh:
Well. First congrats to Nathan. He did really good. I had
though two weeks in university before I come here which didn't
let me train good. But all credit to Nathan and i hope i can
play good next time.
Reiko Peter:
So glad my leg is ok. I wasn't sure if I could play on 100%. I
think I just tried to be positive through the whole week.
Today I managed to make him run more than I had to. The first
was really tough and close but winning it, I knew he would
probably
drop his game a bit. That way I was able to put a lot more
pressure on the ball and make him move into the corners.
Andre Haschker:
Well today is summer inside. He was the taller player
that's why he won :)
To Reiko - well player and good luck for the rest of the
tournament. He will need it against an in fom Jens Schoor:)
Andrew Wagih:
I'm really happy to get through to the quarters, specially when
playing someone as good as Tom, It's also my first time to play
with him but for my little opinion he is going to be better and
better. In the coming days.
Jens Schoor:
I am quite happy with the way I played today against
Tim. Usually we have very tough matches in training and it is
always quite close.
I was glad to win the first game and pick up some confidence
from that game. Thanks to Tim for the good match and I am
looking forward to the match tomorrow with local hero Reiko who
seems to be back from his injury!
Aqeel Rehman:
I had a slow start in the 1st game, but was able do turn it
around. After that I setteled better and got more control. Jonas
made a few errors and might have been bit tired from yesterday.
Happy to win!
Jonas Dähler:
Today I played Austrian Nr.1. The first game was close. Unhappy
that I didn't make the game ball. After I was getting a bit
tired and he took advantage of it. I tried to push but in the
end he was the one winning the ralleys.
I want to thank the organizers for this event and looking
forward to the next year.
Patrick Miescher
I am so happy to get this win! It is probably my biggest win I
had so far and to get it at our home-tournament feels amazing.
Alejandro is a big figther and it will never be easy to get a
win against him.Tomorrow will be a new day and it doesn't matter
how I played today, I will have to start from the beginning
again.
I have no pressure tomorrow and I am looking forward to a good
experience agaist a top player in the world.
Mohamed Abouelghar
I think I played well in patches. It's never easy playing in hot
courts. You feel that the ball goes nowhere. I'm happy with the
the way I adapted to the court am looking forward to tomorrows
match.
Beni Fischer
I learned a lot today. Each time I'm playing a better player I
manage to learn and to adapt a bit better. So i'm progressing
step by step. I look forward to the off-season where I have time
to work on the things I want to. But there is one more
tournament to go and I'm always eager to perform well at home.
