Qualifying Round One
 
The 13th edition of the Qatar Classic got under way at the Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex in Doha today with a number of upsets in the first round of the qualifying competition.

Thirty-two players are competing for a place in the main draw of the PSA World Series $150k event, and Mohamed Abouelghar, Charles Sharpes, Andrew Wagih, Ammar Altamimi, Kristian Frost, Harinder Pal Sandhu, and Nasir Iqbal all beat higher-seeded opponents to claim unexpected places in Saturday’s qualifying finals.
