Fri 7th Day FOUR:
Declan dethrones Greg, Baptiste keeps french hopes alive, Fiona & Nele set up a repeat ...

After the progress of the top seeds last night, it was the turn of the defending champions to impress on the big stage.

First though, Belgiums Nele Gilis eased past Alexandra Fuller to reach the semis, then Fiona Moverley beat the younger Gilis, Tinne, in four games to set up a repeat of last years final against Nele one round sooner.

The men's matches were dramatic in different ways - Baptiste Masotti came from 5-10 down in the fifth to beat Olli Tuominen which, in the end, maintained French interest as Declan James beat three-time defending champion Greg Marche in straight games.

Men's third seed Zahed Salem, also Egyptian, found himself two games down to in form Englishman George Parker, but mounted a determined comeback which he eventually completed in 95 minutes.

English top seeds Emily Whitlock and James Willstrop won in contrasting styles - a relievec Whitlock came through in four close games to dent Julianne Courtice while Willstrop eased past France's Lucas Serme in straight games.
