complete as English crash out at St George's
The 2017 edition of the Channel VAS Championship continued at St
George's Hill LTC in Surrey with four qualifying finals to
determine the matchups in the PSA $100k main draw - three of
the tops seeds progressed along with Germany's undseeded
Raphael Kandra, all at the expense of English opponents.

The first player through was top seed Cameron Pilley, the
Australian taking a two-game lead over Adrian Waller then
recovering from a third game blip to complete the win.
Indian Saurav Ghosal, the third qualifying seed, also won
through in four games against and English opponent, beating
Declan James.
England's unproductive night continued as St George's own Tom
Richards lost in three close games to German Raphael Kandra,
who completed a second successive seeding upset.
The clean sweep of English defeats was confirmed as Miguel
Angel Rodriguez came from a game down to beat chris Simpson.

event Rodriguez drew Fares Dessouky, Kandra faces Mohamed
Abouelghar, Ghosal meets Marwan Elshorbagy and Pilley meets last
