SEA & SQUASH
You may live in a
sunny place, with a gorgeous beach, in a little friendly town,
with great restarants, lovely walks, friendly locals, and a very
active squashclub.
In that case, look away now.
For the others - I suspect you could be a few out there - why
don't you try and visit Ile-Rousse, in Corsica, an island
40m flight away from Nice, France, or an hour from Paris.
I personnally have been covering their June tournament
for years now. Last year,
they also organised a WSA, just ask the girls, they just
didn't want to leave....
An airport really close, Calvi Ste Catherine. One
a bit further out, about 1h drive, Bastia. Numerous
ferries straight to Ile-Rousse from Nice, Marseille, etc.
Honestly, really great connections.
Jean-Louis &
Corinne Guidoni, plus club manager/local journalist
Xavier Romieu, and their army of volunteers will make
your holidays a dream, honestly.
You can come all year long, the club is open all year, the
Hotel partner, Splendid Hotel, is too - you'll enjoy the
pool, the nice food, and shady terrace (you'll need that to cool
down, trust me).
I would of course recommend you
come during their World Famous Squash Tournament - this year
will be their 17th edition, from 22nd to 28th June 2013,
where squash rhymes with beach, excellent food, numerous
friendly parties and of course, the very convoited "Boules"
tournament.
Ah, and kids are welcome too, as most of the participants have
been doing the tournament for years, and now bring their
children around...
Honestly, you won't regret chosing that destination, whether for
a nice. You'll have the time of your life... I know I had, year
after year.
