No upsets on day one
but Argentina push India close
The first day of the world teams in Mulhouse saw 15 matches
split over the two venues in three sessions of play.
In the end all the seeded teams won, with the closest to an
upset coming in the last match of the day as Argentina
seriously troubled 8th seeds India. Robertino Pezzota put
the 21/24 seeds ahead with a 99-minute five-game win over
Harinderpal Sandhu.
Saurav Ghosal tied the match up with a straight-games win, then
India's fourth string Mahesh Mangaonkar came from a game down to
beat Leandro Romiglio, much to the relief of the Indian camp.
