PSA returns to LA
The Los Angeles Athletic Club will host the inaugural KIG
Open from January 5 -10, 2010. The event will bring some of
the worlds finest squash players to Los Angeles in
tournament format, and will become an annual fixture on the
local sports calendar.
Competition begins with two qualifying rounds at the Sports
Club/LA in Orange County on January 5th and 6th, where
sixteen domestic and international players will compete for
spots in the main draw.
The tournament then moves to LAAC
from January 7-10, where the 4 qualifiers will compete
against 11 elite international players and Stefan Casteleyn,
head squash pro at LAAC and former world #7.
The generous
sponsorship of the Kazi Investment Group will ensure a
pre-qualified field of world top-40 players that will
include a few top-10 players.
The fantastic athleticism and skill of world-class squash
can be seen every day there is one round per day
culminating with a Sunday final - and there is a concurrent
amateur tournament and a full slate of social events for the
dedicated enthusiast to enjoy.
This begins with a Meet the
Players cheese and wine reception at LAAC on Thursday
evening, and includes a Friday-night-on-the-town beginning
at the elite Crocker Club, and a Saturday dinner and awards
party, also at the LAAC. |
