France's
world number two Gregory Gaultier will head the draw of
European Individual Closed Championship in Herentals, and will
be aiming for an impressive seventh title in the tenth running
of the event since its reintroduction in 2004.
Gaultier's main rivals, the likely 2-7 seeds, will be Dutchman
Laurens Jan Anjema, England's Daryl Selby and
Chris Simpson, recently married Spaniard Borja Golan,
Germany's Simon Rosner, Swiss star Nicolas Mueller
and defending champion Olli Tuominen from Finland.
Gaultier heads a four-strong French contingent in the men's
draw, which features players from 18 countries, with the biggest
representation coming from hosts Belgium with eight, led by
16-time national champion Stefan Casteleyn.
The
women's field features players from twelve countries, with
former and defending champions Camille Serme of France
and Natalie Grinham of the Netherlands the top seeds.
Action gets under way on Wed 4th September at the Flemish
Squash Centre in Herentals, with the 2014 champions set to
be crowned on Sun 7th.
