VENUE
The
11th Canary Wharf Squash Classic will be staged on a stunning Courtwall all glass
court situated in the spectacular East Wintergarden.
This state of the art venue was designed by Cesar Pelli and was based on
the Wintergardens in New York. It opened in October 2003 and has hosted
the Classic ever since.
The event attracts people from many of the Canary Wharf tenants, who
enjoy the convenience and impact of having a world-class sporting event
staged literally on their doorstep.
The
event is designed to provide a corporate vehicle for sponsors,
attracting spectators to Canary Wharf and generating media coverage that
will present positive images of the venue and the sponsors to regional,
national and international audiences.
Spectators get a great view of the action from all around the
spectacular glass court, which incorporates highly visible event
branding.
Using the very latest all-glass court, with its innovative “contra-dot”
system, the event gives the spectators the chance to see the world's
best squash players battle it out from all four sides of the court.
Reserved seating is erected on three sides of the court, behind the back
wall and the two sidewalls.

constructing over 15 million square feet of office and retail space
across its 97 acre East London Estate.
Canary Wharf’s world-class Arts & Events programme includes over 100
events each year and more than 60 art works by 45 artists and designers

beating entries from around the world.
There are more than 240 shops, bars and restaurants at Canary Wharf.
Recent fashion openings include Tiffany & Co., Jaeger and Hackett. Seven
new bars and restaurants have opened in the past 18 months to critical
acclaim, creating more than 400 jobs.

1,000 trees, 88 floral species and each year 70,000 seasonal plants are
planted.
Canary Wharf also has one of Britain’s highest concentrations of ‘green’

past three years.
