Day One in Abbeydale
We're
starting the event off at Abbeydale, where the U19 plus
U13 Boys and U15 Girls events are taking place - and of course
all the finals on Sunday on the Tecnifibre Glass Court.
The club has undergone some refurbishments, notably improvements
to the previously impossible-to-cover courts 1, 2 and 3, so that
was our first port of call, camera in hand.
As for the squash - lots of matches, no major upsets, so for
TODAY you've got the results, a few snippets on the Blogh and
lots of photos in the Gallery.
Chances are it will be more of the same tomorrow, but we'll
start proceedings with a look at Hallamshire's revamped
facilities, before we get down to the nitty gritty of the
competition on Day Three ... |
Abbeydale Makeover
The
Abbeydale Club is in the middle of a major
refurbishment, the first phase of which was
completed around three month ago, involving
the reception area, gym, and courts 1, 2 and
3.
Very nice it looks too, and with the courts
now being glassbacks we should finally be
able to get some decent shots too (although
the lighting still phases horribly).
Over the next few months the makeover
continues, with the original glassback
courts 6 and 8, plus court 7, the Glass
Court which was opened by Jonah Barrington
in 2004, next on the list for upgrade.
