  TODAY at the BJC 2014

Sun 2nd Nov, Day THREE:
It's finals day

Lots of playoff matches too of course, but eight National Champions were crowned today in Manchester, with three out of four top seeds triumphing at both venues.

NSC Finals:

G17 [1] Amelia Henley 3-0 [3/4] Mari Taylor
                 11-2, 11-2, 11-7
B17 [1] Kyle Finch 3-1 [5/8] Charlie Lee
                 7-11, 11-8, 13-11, 11-4
G19 [2] Georgina Kennedy 3-2 [1] Lily Taylor
                 11-7, 5-11, 7-11, 11-5, 11-5
B19 [1] George Parker 3-0 [3/4] Patrick Rooney
                  11-7, 11-4, 11-4

Northern Finals:

B13 [1] Sam Todd 3-0 [2] Adam Gould
                  11-6, 11-3, 11-8
G13 [3/4] Layna Beattie 3-0 [2] Margot Prow
                   11-8, 11-6, 11-7

 B15 [1] Nick Wall 3-1 [2] Jared Carter
                    13-11, 11-4, 5-11, 11-6
 G15 [1] Elise Lazarus 3-0 [3/4] Karina Tyma
                   11-6, 11-6, 11-9

At the NSC Amelia Henley claimed the first title as she proved too strong for Mari Taylor in the G17 final, although Taylor was getting closer as the match progressed.

Kyle Finch took the B17 title, coming back from a game down against surprise finalist Charlie Lee. The turning point was when Finch came back from 7-10 down to take the third before carrying that momentum into the fourth.

The G19 final was a see-saw affair, with second seed Georgina Kennedy taking the last two games to beat top seed Lily Taylor. B19 top seed George Parker took an early grip on his match with Patrick Rooney and never looked like letting it slip as he rounded off the weekend.
