Top seeds tested in Texas semis
Is sounds like they had a tremendous semi-finals night in Texas,
with top seeds Rachael Grinham and Kasey Brown both
having to come from two games down to secure their places in the
final.
Grinham lost the first two games 9/11, 9/11 against Sarah Kippax,
edged the third 13/11 and went on to win the final two games 11/5,
11/7.
Brown was up against Joelle King, and lost the first pair of
games 5/11, 6/11. She levelled the match 11/7, 11/4 then won the
decider 12/10.
As you can see, all we have are the bare scores - if anyone can
supply more details on the matches that would be much appreciated

Round One:
Natalie Sets Up Grinhams Clash
Australian-born sisters Rachael and Natalie Grinham will meet
for the first time since contesting the World Open semi-finals in
September 2009 when they line-up in the quarter-finals of the Texas
Open at Downtown YMCA in Dallas.
Natalie, the younger of the pair who is making her Tour comeback
after the birth of her first child last year, battled to a five-game
first round upset over sixth-seeded US teenager Amanda Sobhy.
By contrast, top seed Rachael Grinham, winner of the title in 2004,
needed only three games to see off German qualifier Sina Wall.
The 34-year-old world No4 from Queensland will be hoping to avenge
her defeat by Natalie in Amsterdam 19 months ago when the Toowoomba
twosome meet in Dallas for the 24th time since August 2000.
Hong Kong's Joey Chan also pulled off a five-game upset when she
beat Malaysia's eighth seed Delia Arnold. Chan, the 22-year-old
world No23, will now take on fourth seed Joelle King, the defending
champion from New Zealand who removed US qualifier Olivia Blatchford
in straight games. |
