"I am extremely happy and excited to win my first title," said Lee, "I was playing better and being more patient than I expected though it is always hard to play against my teammate since we know each other very well."

Lee Ka Yi Wong Chi Him provided a second home winner as defeating his higher-seeded compatriot Yip Tsz Fung in four games to also capture his first ever professional title.

"I am so touched and glad that I could win this first ever title that I am looking forward to since I was a junior," said Wong. "I am very pleased that I could keep my pace and standard as in yesterday's match."

10-Jul, Quarters & Semis:
Double Delight for Hong Kong
after Cyclone delay ...

Although bad weather caused the men’s and women’s quarter finals to be postponed to this afternoon,  followed by the semi-finals, it turned out to be a good day for the home players at Hing Kong Cricket Club with Hong Kong winners guaranteed in both events.

With support from the home crowd, local favourites Ho Tze Lok, Lee Ka Yi, Yip Tsz Fung and Wong Chi Him dispatched their opponents to claim their places in the finals.

In the women's semis rising star Lee Ka Yi gave her best to upset American top seed Latasha Khan in a tough five-setter and qualifier Ho Tze Lok won in straight games over the young Egyptian Amina Yousry.

In the men’s event, an amazing performance from Wong Chi Him who beat Indian seed No.1 Mahesh Mangaonkar 3-1. He will  face the second seed Yip Tsz Fung, who has yet to drop a game,  in the final.

08-Jul, Round One:
Plenty of upsets in Kowloon

While the top seeds went safely through to the quarter-finals of the Contrex Challenge Cup at Kowloon Cricket Club, there were plenty of upsets elsewhere in the men's and women's draws.

India's top seed Mahesh Mangaonkar quickly disposed of local qualifier Lincoln Chan, and home-based second seed Tsz Fung Yip also won in straight games.

Yip is one of six HK players in the last eight, with Henry Leung, Woo Chang Wook and Chris Lo all upsetting the seedings to progress.

In the women's draw top seed Latasha Khan had a first-round bye, and is joined in the quarter-finals by six Hong Kong players and Egyptian eighth seed Amina Yousry.

Second seed Vanessa Raj eased through, while qualifiers Choi Uen Shan and Ho Tze Lok both beat seeded opponents.

07-Jul, Qualifying:
Qualifying complete in Kowloon

Day one of the new $5k event at Kowloon Cricket Club saw home players claim seven of the eight available spots in the main draws.
