Laura take Canary titles
Top seeds Jordi Bercedo and Laura Alonso
became the 2009 Canary Island Champions at the Top Tenerife
Training (T3) complex in Coste Adeja, Southern Tenerife,
with players from all seven islands competing.
 In
the men's final Jordi beat his brother Carlos in a tough
five-setter ( 11-7, 11-8, 3-11,9-11,15-13), and needed five
match ball to win his first Canary Islands National Title
after finishing runner-up on five previous occasions.
The victory takes Jordi up to 7th position in the Spanish
National Rankings.
In the women's draw Laura Alonso ( the canary islands wispa
player) was the champion, easing through the draw and
beating Carolina Garciá 3-0 in the final.

was de Press Presentation of the Canary Islands Nationals
Champs that take place from Friday May 29th to Sunday May
31st in the Tenerife Top Training (South Tenerife)
Nuria Martinez the Director of the T3, Jordi
Bercedo President of the Canary Islands Squash
Federation and Marcos Barrera Sport Director of the
Adeje Council spoke in the press presentation about the
getting of Squash in Canary Islands, and about all the
Sports of the T3 (Squash, Tennis, Football, Swimming. Beach
Volley)
It will be the first time that the Canary Islands Nationals
Champs will be in Tenerife South. Tenerife North,
Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and La Gomera have
been the venues for the last editions.
Carlos Becedo will be the Top player in this Champs,
but Javier García, Samuel Rocha and Javier
Gonzalez will be trying to do their best.
This tournament will be included in the Spanish National
Circuit and will have 2000 € on site prize money,
During all the event, the canary islands squash federation
will make a very important promotion of Squash 2016 in Costa
Adeje, one of the most important touristic centres of
Europe.
