#11: Tricia Chuah                                FULL WISPA PROFILE

Who lit your squash spark? I was about 12 when my friend asked me to accompany her in the squash program held at a local club. Our friendship didn't last but hey, the squash did!
Always squash, or could you have competed in another sport? Always squash. I played centre in handball for my high school team. We came second in the district, received a plastic medal and that was about it.
What do you hate most about training? Long runs on the treadmill. It's mind numbing! I have to force myself to daydream at times to complete the run.
The best thing about being an international player? I get to see the world! It's great to be in a place for a week, then leave while I am still excited by it. Experiencing different cultures, meet new people, taste weird food ... it is always something interesting and refreshing everywhere.
Your favourite place to play events? There's a few. Besides KL (not being biased, it's just a really great city to play events)...New York, the city that never sleeps. I get it
now...there's so much to do there and I'm not done! Other good places; Hurghada, Hong Kong, Dublin, France, Australia - for all the wrong reasons.
Filling in time before matches? Watch other matches, have coffee, listen to music, tie my shoe laces, count sheep.
Squash superstitions? As a strong Feng Shui believer, I try to stretch the best I can facing the east for luck. Haha. Only joking, I'm Chinese and I don't even know what Feng Shui means!
The worst thing about travelling? Lugging my bags around the world like a nomad. It's crazy. I really wish they had a life and legs of their own.
Your travelling entertainment provider? MP3 player, books, DVDs .........and Latasha Khan in some tournaments!
Pizza or pasta? Pizza. with Meat. Thin crust. Mushrooms. with Meat. Cheese. Lots.
Tea or coffee? COFFEE. Kopi. koffie. kaffe. kahvi. caffe. kouhii. cafe. kahawa.
Fruit or chocolate? Chocolate - dark with nuts, without raisins. I live for Ferrero Rocher. Hail!
Just finished reading? My Friend Leonard - James Frey. About to finish The Funny Thing Is... - Ellen DeGeneres. It's hilarious and easy to read.
The album you listen to most? Massive Attack, Hooverphonics, Thievery Corporation, Abraham, India Arie, Snow Patrol, The Fray, Portishead.
How many texts sent each day? Ranges from 0 to 10. Prefer calling though ... get my message across better.
Sporting event you would most like to go to? Tennis Grand Slams. Lakers games.
Dinner with any sports person past or present? Entree with John McEnroe. Main course with Michael Jordan.
Marat Safin for dessert.
Glass half full or half empty? Half full... but that would be a bad lie!!!
Truth : Half empty working to be half full.
Your life so far, one thing you would change? A bad hair cut once upon a time, but it grew back so....NOTHING.
Plans for the future? Near future - to be the best squash player that I can be. Future future - own and manage a restaurant then franchise like crazy $$$
