Kippax & Le Roux Celebrate English Double at Swiss Open

The 35th staging of the Sigma Swiss Open  concluded with an English double as top seeds Shaun le Roux and Sarah Kippax clinched the men's and women's titles, respectively, after straight games wins in the finals at Geneva Squash Club in Geneva.

Cape Town-born Le Roux, from Yorkshire, romped through to the men's final for the loss of only one game.  The 21-year-old faced Carl Hampson, an unseeded Australian who survived a close five-game semi-final battle with fellow non seed Olivier Pett, from England.

But le Roux prevailed in the final, winning 11-3, 11-5, 11-1 to claim the second PSA Tour title of his career.

Sarah Kippax had to overcome English opponents throughout her Geneva run.  In her eighth WISPA World Tour final, the 24-year-old from Cheshire faced unseeded compatriot Fiona Moverley, a 21-year-old from Hull celebrating her maiden appearance in a Tour final after upsets over the event's second and fourth seeds.

But Moverley's five-game semi-final battle over New Zealander Kylie Lindsay had clearly taken its toll, as Kippax stormed through to win 9-1, 9-0, 9-5 to secure her third Tour title, and her second this year.
