26-Sep, Quarters:
Hansen hopes to stop Egyptian Domination
Denmark's Line
Hansen is the sole non-Egyptian left in the Alexandria
Open draw after the quarter-finals saw three of the host
nation's World Junior Team Championship winning team win
through to the last four.
Hansen beat the fourth member of that team, Nouran El Torky,
in three extra-point games and now meets top seed Nour El
Tayeb, the world junior champion who needed to come from
2-1 down to beat Lauren Briggs, in the semi-finals.
In the bottom half of the draw Nour El Sherbini, who
beat second seed Aisling Blake in straight games, meets
Kanzy El Dafrawy.
25-Sep, Round One:
Qualifiers Nouran and Yathreb
take out seeds in round one
Both of the El Torky sisters were involved in upsets
in the first round of the Alexandria Open, but while
qualifier Nouran, the younger at 18 years old, took
out eighth seed Gaby Huber in straight games, fourth seeded
Heba, now 20, fell victim to another qualifier as she
lost in four games to Yathreb Adel, herself just 15.
Nouran now meets third seeded Dane Line Hansen while
Yathreb faces another young Egyptian, 17-year-old Kanzy
El Dafrawy.
There will be home interest in each of the quarter-finals -
as it happens, in the form of the four members of Egypt's
World Junior Champion team - as World Junior Champion
Nour El Tayeb (that's the first time we've had the
chance to say that since she won the title in Boston, sounds
good, doesn't it!) takes on England's Lauren Briggs,
and Nour El Sherbini meets Irish second seed
Aisling Blake.

Bon ba j'avais oublié comme l'arbitrage
égyptien pouvait quelquefois être un peu aléatoire.... Je suis très
frustrée de mon match..
Je perd les deux premiers jeux car en voulant jouer mon jeu, je lui
permet trop de me faire mal avec sa puissance. Je met un peu trop
vite la balle devant avec des fautes qui se répètent.
Alors quand c'est comme ça il faut chercher le plan B, c'est une
valeur sûre .. Je décide de ralentir le rythme en jouant le plus
droit possible mais en essayant toujours de jouer vite à la volée.
Alors même si je perd 2/0 je suis quand même confiante car je me
sens pas atteinte physiquement et malgré les petits soucis
d'arbitrage je fais avec.
Le 3ème j'arrive exactement à mettre en place ce que je veux, je
suis vraiment mes balles quand j'attaque pour ensuite faire le
décalage. Je mène assez facilement et là, ça commence, no let et des
lets à tout va. Heureusement j'avais assez d'avance dans les points
pour gagner ce jeu.
En rentrant sur le court pour le 4ème je sais toujours quoi faire
tactiquement, et je me dis qu'il va falloir pousser pour éviter les
no lets.
Sans mentir je dois me prendre 4/5 no let des le début et des lets
de partout. Surtout que c'était des lets qu'il me donnait au début
sans problème.
Comme je savais quoi faire, je n'ai pas paniqué, j'ai joué, j'ai
forcé physiquement pour aller au delà des contacts pour jouer les
balles mais quand tu peux vraiment pas, tu peux vraiment pas, je
suis allée au maximum que je pouvais donc je n'ai pas de regrets,
juste la sensation énorme de mettre fait avoir sur l'arbitrage ...
Et pour que des égyptiens l'admettent, c'est que je pense il y avait
de quoi se révolter mais je suis restée calme, juste impuissante au
niveau des décisions dans les moments les plus importants.
Impatiente de la rejouer car c'est une égyptienne vraiment pas
facile à jouer qui va très vite au contac,t et en y allant
franchement, et la prochaine fois avec un arbitrage neutre se serra
mieux ;)
