Seven Dutch men and seven Dutch women are admitted to the qualifying rounds for the Rotterdam Open Squash 2014, which takes place from August 28 to 31 at Victoria Squash Rotterdam, bringing the number of home players in this,  the only professional squash tournament in the Netherlands, to seventeen.

In the men's draw Bart Ravelli (PSA-230), Marc ter Sluis (PSA-270), Ren้ Mijs, Rick Penders, Stephen Cooke, Fubara Bestman and Joris Wagenaar will  compete in qualifying on behalf of the Netherlands.

Two victories are needed to get through to the main tournament, in which the second-seeded Sebastian Weenink (PSA-90) and wildcard Roshan Bharos (PSA-352) have already been admitted.

In the women's tournament Tessa ter Sluis (WSA-205), Margriet Huisman, Dagmar Vermeulen, Danielle Rossmeissl, Judith Diepeveen, Sharona Teeling and Nikki van der Heijden participate in the qualifying tournament.

Like the men, the national top players have to win two times in qualifying to get through to the main round of the Rotterdam Open.

The Dutch youth champion Sanne Veldkamp was granted the wild card spot in the main draw the local organisation.

The main draws of the Dutch PSA and WSA World Tour event will be led by the thirty-two-year-old Irishwoman Aisling Blake (WSA-33) and ten years younger Frenchman Lucas Serme (PSA 67).

For both men and women there is five thousand dollars prize money available.
