Rotterdam Open to feature PSA and
WSA events
Squash
players from around the world will travel to the Dutch city of
Rotterdam again later this year to compete in the Rotterdam
Open, which will be played from the 28th until the 31st
of August 2014 at one of the oldest and most successful
clubs in the Netherlands, Victoria Squash Rotterdam.
Contrary to last year's edition, the 2014 Rotterdam Open
features both a Professional Squash Association (PSA) and
Women’s Squash Association (WSA) event, with both the men and
women competing for a total prize fund of $5,000.
The
management of the only international pro squash championship in
the Netherlands will be in the hands of Victoria Squash for the
first time, to the excitement of club chairman Cor van den
Heuvel:
“We have always felt that this type of event should take place
at Victoria Squash Rotterdam. It raises the awareness of our
beautiful sport and stimulates our aim to make the sport more
known within our city”, said Van den Heuvel.
Like last year the 2014 Rotterdam Open Squash will take place
simultaneously with the Rotterdam Open Tennis, an ITF
Future tournament attracting professional tennis players from
around the globe.
