UNDER 21S
There were no major surprises on day two of the Under 21 events
as the top seeds progressed through to the main draw on
Thursday.
In the Boys Under 21 British National Championships, Richie
Fallows and George Parker progressed to the final on Sunday. The
upset came when [5/8] Patrick Rooney knocked out [3/4] Lyell
Fuller in the quarter finals to set up a tie with George Parker.
The draw was made after the final
match had finished. Richie Fallows was drawn to play the 2011
British National Champion, Daryl Selby. George Parker meanwhile
lined up a tie with two time British National Championships
quarter finalist, Joe Lee.
The top two seeds in the Girls Under 21 event, Georgina Kennedy
and Alison Thomson, also progressed through to the final. Alison
Thomson had to overcome a determined Jessica Davis in the
quarter final, eventually prevailing 3-2 in 70 minutes.
Georgina Kennedy was handed the chance to test herself against
the best as she was drawn against world no.1 Laura Massaro.
Alison Thomson will play 2015 semi-finalist, Victoria Lust.
The finalists will meet each other on Sunday, as well as booking
themselves a place in the main draw of the British National
Championships.
OVER 21S
In the Men’s Over 21 draw, [5/8] Adam Murrills qualified for the
main draw, upsetting the seedings by defeating 2 Chris Fuller in
the semi-finals and world no.130, [5/8] Ashley Davies in the
finals. Wales’ [3/4] Joel Makin justified his seeding to book
his place in the main draw.
The qualifiers were picked out of a hat after the final match.

Nationals winner, James Willstrop. Meanwhile, Joel Makin will
play Declan James who is competing in his sixth Nationals.
