MULHOUSE... WHAT
DOES IT OFFER ?
The tallest Protestant building
in France, the most prestigious car collection in the
world and an extraordinary museum cluster, the
only Italian restaurant awarded a Michelin star in France,
protected animals in an exceptional botanical garden,
incredible architectural diversity, the
biggest market in the East of France, designer
boutiques…
These are just a few of the assets that make Mulhouse and its
region a destination that combines a typical Alsace feel with a
little something extra, an unusual, dynamic and surprising place
that attracts some 2.5 million visitors a year.
Mulhouse, a city tourism destination
Here you’ll find the world’s most fantastic and prestigious
museums in their fields. See for yourself:
the Cité de l’Automobile – Schlumpf Collection and its
400 vintage cars, the Museum of Printed Textiles with 3
million samples gathered together in its archives, the Cité
du Train and its mechanical marvels, and the Alsace
Ecomusée, one of Europe’s biggest outdoor museums.
But there’s a whole lot more to Mulhouse! The city has many
parks and gardens, the most famous being the Zoological
and Botanical Garden, which opened in 1869 (!).
From the medieval city to the industrial era of the 19th century,
this former republic’s exceptional heritage has earned it the “Town
of Art and History” label.
A walk round the different neighbourhoods is a must: from the
villas of the 19th-century captains of industry to one of the
first workers’ housing developments, via old factories made of
brick or an old Rhenish Renaissance town hall. People here are
very imaginative and love shopping: local designer boutiques sit
alongside the big chain stores.
As for eating out…
Whatever takes your fancy, be it regional cuisine, world food,
creative cuisine… The city of Mulhouse has something to suit
every taste! And to round off your stay, how about an
unforgettable encounter?
But what about.... BIKES!!!
