20-Jan-08, Final:
[1] Samantha Teran (Mex) bt [2] Latasha Khan (Usa)
9/1, 10/9, 4/9, 6/9, 9/6
Teran maintains Berwyn unbeaten record
Dominic Hughes reports
Top seed Samantha Taran took a two game lead in the final at Berwyn
Squash & Fitness, but Latasha Khan - on her 35th birthday - made
some superb kills and attacking shots to claw her way back, winning
the next two games 9-4, 9-6. In the fifth game at 2-3 Latasha
accidentally caught Samantha on the lip causing a delay of 15
minutes to stop the bleeding. After calming herself and regrouping
Samantha took the final game 9-6.
A packed gallery enjoyed the two hour match and very exciting
squash. Samantha has now won twice here, repeating her 2006 triumph
and maintaining her Berwyn unbeaten record.

Top Two into Berwyn Final
Top
seeds Samantha Teran and Latasha Khan came through two
rounds of play on Saturday to reach the final of the Liberty Bell
Open in Berwyn.
Teran
dropped the first game in both of her matches, first against Karen
Kronemeyer and then against Lauren Siddall, who had earlier upset
fourth seed Runa Reta.
Khan had similar troubles, needing to recover from a game down
against Alana Miller and then from 2/1 down against Aisling Blake
before reaching her 9th WISPA final, which will be played on her
35th birthday.
Teran will be competing in her 10th final and has a 7/2 winning
record compared to Khan's 2/6 statistic.
