PREVIEW:
Classic all set for fourth edition
The fourth edition of the Jersey Squash Classic
is set for St Clement in May, featuring a PSA $5k men's event
and, for the first time, a PSA women's event offering the same
prize fund.
Top
seed in the men's event is Australian Matthew Hopkin,
with England's Ashley Davies, Rui Soares of
Portugal and Egypt's British Junior Open champion Youssef
Soliman - who faces wildcard Matt Sidaway in the
first round - filling up the top four seeding positions.
In the women's event England's Millie Tomlinson, in good
form after her spell at College in the USA, is favourite, but
another Egyptian BJO champion Hania El Hammamy, South
Africa's Alexandra Fuller and British U21 and U23
champion Georgina Kennedy make up a strong seeding lineup.
Qualifying gets under way at noon of Tuesday 10th - the day
after the Liberation Day local holiday - with a number of
local players taking on some seasoned pros from around the
world.
Qualifying finals take place on Tuesday evening with the main
draw kicking off at 15.00 on Wed 11th and the finals set for
15.00 on Sat 14th.
