PREVIEW:
Six up at HKFC
The HKFC International returns for a sixth edition in
2017, once again featuring PSA $25k Men's and Women's events.
In the women's event Hong Kong's World #10 Annie Au is
the top entry, heading a list which sees the eight seeded
players all ranking inside the world's top 35.
Egypt's Nour El Tayeb, last year's
runner-up Joshna Chinappa, the Asian Champion, and Welsh
wizard Tesni Evans fill out the top four places.
Home interest is boosted by Joey Chan, Liu Tsz-Ling,
Tong Tsz-Wing and Ho Tze-Lok all taking places in
the main draw.
In the Men's draw defending champion
Nafiizwan Adnan, world ranked #30, is in sixth place (he won
it from third seed last year), with three Egyptians a Scot and a
Hong Kong player ahead of the Malaysian.
Zahed Mohamed heads the field, ahead of fellow Egyptians
Omar Mosaad and Omar Abdel Meguid, while Scotland's
Alan Clyne, Hong Kong's Tsz Fung Yip and recently
crowned National champion Leo Au join Kiwi Campbell
Grayson in the top eight.
Action takes place on Hong Kong Football Club'
three all-glass courts, with qualifying on 4th and 5th September
and the main draw from 6th to 10th.
The ever-popular International 3's, now in its 11th year,
runs alongside the closing stages of the PSA events.
