Tong & Azri capture
HK Junior 2010 titles
With over 400 hundred crowding to
witness the final match of the tournament, second seed Tong
Tsz-wing won the HK junior title in her home town by
upsetting the top seed Malaysian Low Wee Nee in 3-1 in
the Girls Under 19 final.
Malaysian Md. Zul Azri also walked out with his first HK
junior title by defeating his compatriot Marcus Yuen in
straight games in the final of Boys Under 19.
Once again this year the tournament received a new record entry
of 501 participants from 10 countries or cities, including
Korea, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Malaysia, India, Singapore, Macau,
England, Pakistan, and of course the host - Hong Kong China.
In all, nearly a thousand matches were played in the five days.
These numbers have definitely proven the increased popularity
and international significance of squash among all the other
sports.
Special thanks must go to the sub-venting organization –
Leisure and Cultural Services Department for their
continuous full support to squash. Besides, the organizer would
also like to thanks HEAD for sponsoring the winner prizes
and the Perrier for sponsoring the drinks again this
year.
Hong Kong Squash looks forward to receiving many more juniors
around the world again in 2011!
