30th Anniversary brings
world’s best players to town


Title sponsored by Cathay Pacific and Sun Hung Kai Financial the “Hong Kong Squash Open 2015” as one of the world's most prestigious sporting extravaganzas will be performed at Hong Kong Football Club, Hong Kong Squash Centre and Hong Kong Park Sports Centre from November 29 to December 06, 2015.

The top 30 players will return to this star- studded World Series Event for a tempting winning purse of HK$1.9 million competing in men’s and women’s categories in the world’s most hustle and bustle city.

Presented by Hong Kong Squash, marking the 30 consecutive years of the Hong Kong Open which is well known as one of the most sensational and world-class events, would demonstrate the best squash to delight the worldwide fans.

The qualifying rounds will be kicked off at Hong Kong Football Club while the early stages of main draw will be played at Hong Kong Squash Centre before moving to the portable glass court erected at Hong Kong Park Sports Centre for its semi-finals and finals.

Current world No 1 Mohamed Elshorbagy will top the draw to defend his title, taking the challenge from the Englishman Peter Barker in the first round. Nick Matthew, the 2013 Champion, and Gregory Gaultier, last year’s runner up are the seed No.2 and No.3 respectively.

Max Lee, the Hong Kong leading player, enters the main draw straight against the seed No.7 Omar Mossad. Another local star, Leo Au via the wild card will encounter Gregory Gaultier in the first round.

On the women’s side, since Egyptian Raneem El Welily became the world No.1 in September, Malaysia’s Nicol David, the 9 time champion, becomes the second seed after dominating the draw for the past eight years. Nicol will be face Liu Tsz Ling, the wild card in the round one. HK's top woman player Annie Au, the world No. 10, will face Emily Whitlock.
