The
U.S. College Squash Association will be hosting its first ever
coach’s conference on October 13-15 at Wesleyan University in
Middletown, Conneticut, at Wesleyan's new Rosenbaum Squash Centre.
There are currently 40 College and High School coaches registered
along with coaches from urban programs and developing varsity teams.
The conference co-directors are Shona Kerr (head men’s and
women’s Coach at Wesleyan University) and Tim Bacon (head
coach at Smith College, North Hampton, MA).
The conference will focus on “Optimal Season Planning” for the
university and high school teams and will cover all stages of
training and skill development, using peridization theory.
The end result is that coaches should be able to leave with a more
developed way to effectively plan and coach in the upcoming season.
