NSC Super Satellite No 2
 2007
13-17 June, Kuala Lumpur, $7k + $6k

Super Satellite title for Chiu

After another long week of the Satellite Series, the event was eventually won by Rebecca Chiu from Hong Kong. Rebecca was tested in the first game by Annelize Naude, but controlled the match from the second game. Both players showed a basic game at start before opening out in the second game.

The NSC Satellite series will 'take a rest' for a moment before returning in September and October. Hope to see some good squash again in September.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the press for covering the news and not forget our main sponsor, The National Sports Council of Malaysia for giving this good opportunity for supporting this event. Without them we would not be getting a good support for our players here.

Once again, Terima Kasih (Thank You) ...

Ryder lasts the
pace in KL ...

In a final that lasted longer than his three previous matches put together, England's top seed Chris Ryder came from 2/1 down to beat Nafiizwan at the National Squash Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

"It was a interesting final on the all-glass court, both players played brilliantly," said an event spokesman. "In the fifth game, Nafiizwan was catching up suddenly suffered a cramp and couldn't sustained the pace and eventually lost the match."

The win marks World University Champion Ryder's second PSA title, but the first since 2001.

15-Jun, Quarters:
All-English Final ?

The NSC Satellite series continues, with the Super Satellite #2 followed immediately by the Satellite #4.

The tournaments provide a good avenue for aspiring players to take their first steps up the rankings ladder and to get a taste of life on the tour.

The English party of Eddie Charlton, Chris Ryder and Tom Pashley are already there ...

"I lost in three to Chris yesterday and wasn't quite sharp enough, but Chris played well.

"The only Kuwaiti left in the draw (Bader) came through in four and now plays Chris for a spot in the final.

"In the other semi Tom plays the only Malaysian left in the draw Nafizwan Adnan.

"Hving beaten the older brother Tom will be confident going into this one, especially as Nafizwan had a tough five setter yesterday with Farag.

An all-English final looks likely but I'll keep you posted ...

[Nope, it's England v Malaysia - see semis results below]

14-Jun, Round One:
All to plan so far

The NSC Satellite series continues, with the Super Satellite #2 followed immediately by the Satellite #4.

The tournaments provide a good avenue for aspiring players to take their first steps up the rankings ladder and to get a taste of life on the tour.

The English party of Eddie Charlton, Chris Ryder and Tom Pashley are already there ...

Most matches went according to plan yesterday with English hopes still very much alive. I played Asyraf Azan a Malaysian (as you can probably tell by the name) who was seeded 7.

Tom took out a young Malaysian in convincing fashion in around 20 minutes. Chris beat the Kuwaiti Hejayeh, also in convincing style.

In the other matches the second Kuwaiti came through in a good match against the promising young Malaysian Ivan Yuen in four games, Elvin Keo beat the only Japanese man in the tournament Yuta Fukui (not to be pronounced incorrectly!)

The only other seed to fall was Malaysia's fifth seed Shahril Shahidan who lost to the talented young Egyptian Wael Farag.

This afternoon's matches start at 3pm on the all glass court with some more shocks still to come. I'll keep you posted ...
