France gatecrash the semis

In the first two quarter-finals in Paris tops seeds Egypt and defending champions England eased into the semi-finals with 3-0 wins over USA and New Zealand.

Fourth seed Hong Kong recovered from their loss to France as they edged past third seeds Malaysia to set upa semi-final against England, and the home crowd were delighted to see France beat multiple former champions Australia to guarantee themselves a best-ever finish.
