Favourites to the fore
in Connecticut
Almost
900 juniors competed in this year's US Junior Open in
Connecticut, playing on 43 courts at Yale University, Trinity
College, Wesleyan University and Choate Rosemary Hall.
Finals day was a good one for the top seeds, with eight of the
titles going to the favourite.
Andrew Douglas delighted the home fans as he took th B19
title, while Marina Stefanoni retained her G15 title as
the USA took four gold medals.
Japan'a Satomi Watanabe and England's Sam Todd
were repeat winners, while Egyptians took two titles, Jana
Shiha and Haya Ali both beating the top seeds in the
G17 and G13 finals.
