titles
Mohmaed Elshorbagy and Sarah-Jane Perry claimed the titles in
San Francisco after contrasting finals.
Elshorbagy beat compatriot Karim Abdel Gawad in straight games
while Perry came from two games down to beat Nicol David.

Gawad
and Shorbagy survive in five
Top seeds Karim Abdel Gawad and
Mohamed Elshorbagy both came through five game
semi-finals to set up an all-Egyptian final in San Francisco.
Gawad
was two games down to Diego Elias, finally prevailing in after
90 minutes, while Shorbagy squeezed past James Willstrop 14/12
in the decider after saving a match ball.
Nicol David eased past Dipika Pallikal
in the women's semis to set up a final against Sarah-Jane Perry.

Perry and Elias in SF shockers
Two big upsets as Diego Elias
beats third seed Nick Matthew - after losing a brutal
32-minute opening game 17/19 - to set up a
semi-final against top seed Karim Abdel Gawad, and
Sarah-Jane Perry overcomes top seed and defending champion Laura Massaro
in a five-game thriller to reach
the women's final.
27-Sep, Quarters part one:
Pallikal powers into SF semis
Dipika Pasllikal recorded a
second sussessive upset to beat USA's Olivia Blatchford and join
the top three seeds in the women's semis.
The Indian now meets
second seed Nicol David, who survived a five game
thriller - and a match ball - against Victoria Lust, while Laura Massaro and
Sarah-Jane Perry will provide an English finalist from
the top half.
Today's two men's quarters saw Mohamed Elshorbagy and
James Willstrop claim close three game wins over Daryl Selby
and Ryan Cuskelly.

was a single upset in each draw as Diego Elias and Dipika
Pallikal Karthik joined seven seeds in the quarter-finals.

as Canadian women's trio advance
Qualifying finals in San Francisco saw a trio of Canadians
progress to the women's main draw as Nikki Todd, Sam
Cornett and Hollie Naughton booked their places,
joined by Australia's Rachael Grinham.
In the men's matches three of the top seeds - Campbell
Grayson, Miguel Rodriguez and Alan Clyne -
made it through, as did Qatar's Adbulla al Tamimi with a
four-game win over second seed Gregoire Marche. |
