The Legends Vs Champions Squash Series featuring matches
between Pakistani and Egyptians Players in Karachi from April
5th to 7th.
The event is a stepping stone on the road to the re launch of a
sport that gave the country glory and unprecedented success for
more than four decades, besides the series a squash carnival is
being staged at the PAF museum Shahra-e-faisal in Karachi,
where for the first time a four walled state of the art glass
court is to be assembled.
The series and carnival would be a celebration of the past with
an eye on the future as the PSF join hand with Top class sports
management professional who have already raised the bar for the
industry in the country by the incredible success of the opening
edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The PSF is also pleased to announce that a long time, the
greatest sportsman of all generations, the record ten times
British open champion Jahangir Khan along with the other
squash legends is endorsing an event in the country.
Jahangir has expressed his delight at the prospect of seeing top
class squash in the country after a long time:
"It is a real pleasure to be a part of the
Event specially with the federation that has the vision and will
to make a difference.
"I firmly believe that we still have talent in the country. It
is all about giving youngster an opportunity."
Series to feature Egyptian Squash champions
The five member Egyptian squash team features three top ten
ranked players including the number 4.
The Egyptian squad includes world number 4 Omar Mossad,
world number six Tarek Momen, World number 7 Karim
Abdel Gawad, world number 17 Mazen Hesham and world
number 14 Ali Farag.
Pakistani number one woman player Maria ToorPakai is to
play an exhibition match during the series.
Pakistan's Top ten male players will feature in the series, the
national squad will be unveiled by PSF later in the month.
