Favourites through to finals

No upsets in the semi-finals as to seeds Rex Hedrick and Vanessa Chu made it through to the finals.

Hedrick beat Carlos Cornes in four games and now meets second seed Piedro Schweertman, who came from 1-2 down to beat Malaysia's Elvinn Keo.

Chu will face in-form Siva Subramanian, gunning for her third title in a row after beating qualifier Satomi Watanabe in straight games.

20-Apr, Quarters:
Quartet of Malaysians make the semis

It was the end of the road for Eain Yow Ng in the quarter-finals in KL as the youngster was beaten in four games by top seed Rex Hedrick of Australia, but four Malaysians did make it through to the semis.

In the men's draw Elvinn Keo carries home hopes after a win over fifth-seeded Chi Him Wong, and he faces second seed Piedro Schweertman, the Dutchman beating qualifier Iker Pajares in five while Hedrick meets Carlos Cornes who beat fellow Spaniard Bernat Jaume.

In the women's draw home favourites Vanessa Chu and Siva Subramanian, seeded one and three, are through, as is Zoe Foo who edged out fourth seed Lakeesha Rarere 17/15 in the fifth. A bigger upset came when teenage Japanese qualifier Satomi Watanabe beat second seed Lotte Eriksen in straight games.

19-Apr, Round One:

No stopping Ng in KL

Fresh from winning his first PSA title in last week's Leg II sat the Royal Laker Club, Malaysia's top junior is at it again at the National Squash Centre in Bukit Jalil, teenage wildcard Eain Yow Ng coming through a five-setter to defeat 8th seed Sanjay Singh.

That was one of three upsets in the men's first round, while three seeds also fell in the women's draw.
