Selby claims biggest title as Lee concedes

Daryl Selby
is the Macau Open champion after Max Lee was forced to concede, unable to recover from the effects of his semi-final against top seed Marwan Elshorbagy.

Playing with cramp through the fifth game, Max was taken to hospital after the match suffering with cramps and dehydration, and while he is now in a stable condition he was not able to contest the final.

King takes women's crown

Top seed Joelle King came from a game down to beat local favourite Annie Au to collect, like Selby, her biggest PSA title to date.

Men's top seeds beaten in Macau

While the women's top seeds Joelle King and Annie Au won through to the final as expected, men's top seeds Marwan Elshorbagy and Saurav Ghosal both lost out as Max Lee and Daryl Selby reached the men's climax.

Play opened for the day with men’s and women’s top seeds facing their eight seeded opponents. All matches went to seeding today after several upsets the day before.

With today being a public holiday in conjunction with the Chinese mid-autumn festival, the stands in the Centro de Bowling were filled with squash enthusiasts.
