Semis:
It's an all-American final in Barbados
Young Americans Spencer Lovejoy and
Andrew Douglas continued to take out the seeds as they
advanced to the final in Barbados.
Lovejoy dominated the opening two games against Rui Soares. With
speed and agility he had the top seeded Portuguese under
pressure to win rallies.
Soares fought back to take the third game and was well
positioned to level the match with three game balls in the
fourth. But Lovejoy, full of confidence and determination, took
five points in a row to take the game 12-10 and reach the final.
In the bottom half of the draw
Douglas' match against third seeded Zac Alexander started
brightly with many rapid exchanges, but it was Douglas who
finished strongly and to take the opening game. However, in the
early part of the second game Alexander was forced to retire
with an injury.
