Hanson takes Atlantic title
Chris Hanson, the #1 seed, continued his dominance of the field
with another 3-0 victory in the final, his 11-6, 11-3, 11-5
drubbing of Mexico's Mario Yanez was never in doubt.
Hanson was able to neutralize Mario's fitness and retrieving
ability with very consistent straight lines, timely drops and
tenacious defense to make him the very first PSA winner on
Prince Edward Island.

runner-up Mario Yanez and John Power organizer.

QUARTERS:
US College Alumni Reunion:
Former #1 players from Cornell University (Nick
Sachvie, Aditya Jagtap), Dartmouth College (Chris Hanson)
and Rochester University (Mario Yanez) have made their
way to the semi-finals of the inaugural Vogue Optical PSA
Atlantic Championships in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.
All but one match were routine days at the office for Hanson,
Yanez and Sachvie, each winning 3-0 against Allan Nunez, Tyler
Osborne and Fernando Magdaleno in relatively convincing fashion.
But it was the titanic battle between Hugo Valera and Aditya
Japtap that left the Island fans shaking their heads. It was 79
mins of hard fought, grind 'em out squash. Every shot in the
book and very few errors was the norm in this back and forth
affair.
It was not until fourth and final game and well over an hour
when Jagtap, who just recently committed to full-time squash
showed that he was the better player on the day. But both left
the court knowing they had given their all before a very
appreciative crowd.
