WSA confirm no World Open in
2014
After much comment and speculation on the absence of a World
Open on the WSA calendar, the Women's Squash Association
today confirmed the news with this statement:
The WSA is extremely
disappointed to announce that there will not be a Women's
World Championships in 2013.
Having pursued all options we have reached a point where it
is no longer feasible to expect the event to take place this
year.
However, we believe it is the best interests of our players
and the sport that we look at other solutions. We are
currently exploring the option of hosting the event in early
2014.

Disappointing news
indeed, coming just a week after the men's event in
Manchester, and we at SquashSite wish them all the best in
their quest to get the World Open back up and running as
soon as possible ...
Nicol David will thus get to keep the title she
won in the Cayman Islands last year for a little longer -
hopefully not the three years that Peter Nicol held the
men's title which was not competed for in 2000 and 2001.
