El
Tayeb Overtakes Grinham
Youth
comes to the fore in the latest Women's World Squash
Rankings where Egyptian teenager Nour El Tayeb edges in
front of experienced campaigner Natalie Grinham in the only
top 20 change in the June list published by WISPA.
Malaysian Nicol David maintains her lead at the top of the
rankings to celebrate her 59th successive month as world
No1.
But England's Jenny Duncalf also has good reason to be
pleased after moving into her 15th month in a row as world
No2. After two successive stunning wins over Nicol David at
the end of 2009, 28-year-old Duncalf has provided the final
opposition for the illustrious Malaysian in five WISPA
climaxes since - including April's Cayman Islands Open.
So while Australia's Rachael Grinham holds onto third place
in the June rankings, younger sister Natalie Grinham slips
back to 18th place after crashing back into the top 20 the
previous month following a successful Tour comeback after
the birth of her first child last year.
But fast-rising Egyptian star Nour El Tayeb moves up to 17
to equal her career-best ranking. The 18-year-old from Cairo
followed her title success in the Irish Open in April by
reaching last month's semi-finals of the Hurghada
International against expectations.
Compatriot Raneem El Weleily, winner of the Hurghada
International, has strengthened her position as world No12
after her breakthrough victory in the final over the
Egyptian number one Omneya Abdel Kawy, the world No8.

Tuominen Flies Back Into Top 20
Flying
Finn Olli Tuominen makes a welcome return to the world top
20 after a 20-month absence, according to the June Dunlop
PSA Men's World Squash Rankings.
An unchanged top ten sees England's Nick Matthew maintain
his 2011 grip on the world number one ranking - the
30-year-old from Sheffield taking up his sixth successive
month at the top.
But, after winning the Hurghada International on home soil
last month, Egyptian rival Ramy Ashour has taken his PSA
title total to 20, and narrowed the gap behind Matthew at
No2.
Meanwhile, fellow Egyptian Karim Darwish is in third place
and England's James Willstrop at No4.
After a slump in form which saw his ranking slip to 25, Olli
Tuominen enjoyed a sensational run in Hurghada - where he
upset both Frenchman Thierry Lincou, the world No8, and
Egypt's former world No13 Mohammed Abbas to reach the
event's semi-finals unseeded.
The former world No13 from Helsinki moves up two places to
No20, thereby making his first appearance in the world top
20 since September 2009.
But Omar Mosaad has also consolidated his status as the
sixth highest-ranked Egyptian by rising to a career-high
world No14. The 23-year-old from Cairo marked his third PSA
final appearance of the year at the Kolkata International in
India in April, and last month reached the Hurghada
International quarter-finals unseeded.
