Tasmanian Open 2015
23-26 Jul, Devonport, $5k

26-Jul, Finals:
First title for Kush in Tasman,
top seed Nunn wins ...

Young Indian Kush Kumar claimed his first PSA title as he beat top seed Jaymie Haycocks in straight games in the final in Devonport.

There was a home winner in the women's event as top seed Christine Nunn beat South Africa's Cheyna Tucker in straight games.

"Very happy to take home the 2015 title after a tough match today against Cheyna Tucker," said Nunn on facebook.

"Congratulations to the Devonport Squash Community on another excellent tournament! Big thankyou also to my awesome sponsors and family."

25-Jul, Quarters-Semis:
Finals set in Devonport

Two rounds of play again today, with the second seeds beaten in both men's and women's draws in Devonport.

Top seed Jaymie Haycocks needed all five games to beat Kiwi Chris van der Salm in the men's semis, and will face Kush Kumar in the final after the Indian youngster, seeded three, beat Irishman Sean Conroy - who had earlier beaten second seed Robbie Downer - in the semis.

Women's top seed Christine Nunn survived a five-game all-Aussie semi-final against Lisa Camilleri, playing in her first tournament after an injury layoff.

In the final she'll meet South African third seed Cheyna Tucker, who came from a game down to beat second seed Sarah Cardwell.

24-Jul, Round One/Two:
Down to the quarters in Devonport

Two rounds of play in the men's $5k draw in Devonport saw the top eight seeds all safely through to the quarter-finals, with eighth seed Thomas Calver the lone Australian still in contention.

It's the same story in the women's draw, although he top four seeds all received byes, but here there's high hopes of a home winner with Christine Nunn, Lisa Camilleri and Sarah Cardwell all slated to reach at least the semis.
