15-Mar, Final:
[1] Kristian Frost (Den) 3-0 [4] Joel Makin (Wal)
13/11, 11/7, 11/6 (68m)
Frost tales 11th PSA title in Zurich
John Williams reports
A very tough first game, 33 minutes, which was crucial to the
outcome perhaps. At 6-6 in second Frost's experience is telling,
Makin frustrated with some errors and poor shot selection. Frost
opens up a 10-3 lead in the third, takes it 11-6 on his fourth match
ball.
Makin will take positives despite the three-nil loss, he displayed
great tenacity & court coverage. Frost has his 11th PSA title - very
happy of course after being looked after first-Hand by tournament
organiser himself all week ;-)
Kristian Frost:
"Not surprised at all that I had to battle for 68min for a 3-0
win as Joel is a very strong, tough lad. He shows superb athleticism
& flexibility in his movement.
"Winning the first game was crucial in the context of the
match. The match actually also counted as a challenge match to
decide who Plays No.1 in my Danish league Team :-)"
Joel Makin:
"Gutted to lose but it was the best quality of Squash I
played in the 4 matches here at the Swiss Open. Always tough battles
with Kristian (also in practise), but it was fought in the best of
Spirits - which is the way it should be - without too many
stoppages.
"I will have to continue with my daily 2-hours of yoga & work even
harder to clinch that No.1 spot in Kristian's Danish league Team &
hopefully a Swiss Open title in 2016 :-)"

Frost ends Poleshchuk run,
Makin topples second seed
John Williams reports
Top seed Kristian Frost advanced to the final with a
hard-fought three-game win over Israeli qualifier Daniel Poleshchuk,
where he'll meet Welshman Joel Makin, who twice came from
behind to bear second seed Joel Hinds in five.

13-Mar, Quarters:
Swiss fall in Zurich quarters
John Williams reports
In Zurich today the last of the Swiss hopes were extinguished as the
higher seeded Players moved through to the semis, along with PSA
Player of the month - Daniel Poleshchuk.
Top seed Kristian Frost was made to work very hard versus the
the crafty & unorthodox German Tim Weber. After surviving a match
ball at 9-10 in the fifth, Frost constructed two excellent rallies
where he finished both with well disguised cross flicks that the
tired German was unable to cover.
Next up Poleshchuk continued his hot run of late with an impressive
3-0 victory over Swiss No.5 Patrick Miescher. Poleshchuk showed a
great Array of firepower once again on a glass court that rewards
attacking Squash.
Young Welsh hopeful Joel Makin proved too solid for Swiss
No.3 Beni Fischer with a hard earned 4-game victory. After the first
two games were evenly contested, Makin gradually imposed his
physical game style upon his Swiss Opponent & the damn broke in the
fourth as he swept Fischer aside & moved into the semis on saturday.
Last
up on court was local Vitis Boy - Manuel Wanner - against the A380
wingspan of Joel Hinds :-).
Hinds had the better of his younger Opponent in the first two games,
but the Zurich crowd favourite mounted his comeback with a higher
intensity in the thrid game.
In the end the experience of the Englishman was the difference
though, as he surged to victory in the fourth, taking advantage of a
series of unforced errors from Wanner midway through the last game.
