Coll is headed for the Junior Men's World Championships in Ecuador next month and showed he is in good form with a 3-1 win over second seed Scott Gardiner in the semis.

In the women's draw, Megan Craig cruised into the last two with 3-0 wins over Cara Raal and Mikayla Kerr respectively. The Canterbury teen will face second seed Jutta Tuunanen in the title decider.

Seeds safe in round one
Gary Denvir reports

Not too many problems for the title favourites in the opening round of the South Island Squash Championships in Christchurch today.

World number 42 Martin Knight has led a procession of seeded players into the second round of the men's draw, winning his opening match 3-0 against Tim McVie.
