England
Squash and Racketball is delighted to announce the
appointment of Chris Robertson as the new national
coach.
Chris, a former World Junior Champion and World #3, joins
from Squash Wales where he has been National Coach for 16
years. He has enjoyed significant success with Wales,
overseeing both junior and senior players and helping Wales
to achieve medals at senior level on the World and European
stages, as well as European medal success at under 15, 17
and 19 age groups.
Chris will be starting his post in the New Year and will
provide day-to-day leadership of ESR’s senior programme,
whilst maintaining a strong influence and responsibility for
England’s emerging and junior players.
Chris said of his appointment: “I am excited about the
opportunity to be involved with such a traditional
powerhouse of the sport, namely, ESR. The prospect to
operate with the calibre of coaches and players that
currently exist inside ESR is something that every coach at
the elite level would strive to be awarded”.
Head of Performance Keir Worth was equally delighted,
saying; "This is a fantastic appointment for ESR - it has
been a very thorough process, but extremely worthwhile.
Chris is a highly experienced, world class coach who will
make a significant impact across the whole spectrum of our
Performance Programme. I am delighted he will be joining us
in the New Year"
Furthermore, High Performance Coach David Campion has
been promoted and will be fulfilling an enhanced role within
ESR – as Assistant National Coach. David will have greater
responsibility, operating across the Performance Programme,
in addition to leading the England Academy.
Campion remarked, “ I’m really pleased to be appointed
Assistant National Coach and very much looking forward to
working with Chris and the rest of the staff – we have a
really strong team that will make a difference to both
senior and junior players.” |
